Four steps to launch a corporate MAX channel.

Where to start

  • Install MAX (App Store / Google Play / RuStore / direct from max.ru) and sign up by phone number
  • Tap "+" → "Create channel"
  • Channel name — concise, recognizable. Match Telegram/VK if possible
  • Description — 1-2 sentences about the company, link to the site
  • Avatar — logo at 512×512 against a dark background (MAX UI is dark by default)

Branding

  • Pinned post — what the company does, how to reach you, links to TG/site
  • Channel username (@your_company) — short, no underscores
  • Cover image — 1280×640, the visual must read clearly in a small preview
  • Sticker pack — if budget allows, makes the channel feel "yours"

Category and geo tags

  • Pick a category (Business, Tech, Marketing, Education). Affects visibility in MAX catalog
  • If the business is local — set the city. Channel gets a local boost

Connecting a bot for auto-posting

  • dev.max.ru → create a "bot" type application
  • Get the bot_token (format `:`)
  • Add the bot as channel admin
  • Send messages via REST API `https://botapi.max.ru/messages?access_token={token}` with channel `chat_id`

What works in MAX channels right now

  • Text up to 4000 characters with basic formatting (bold, italic, quote, link)
  • Photos, GIFs, videos up to 50 MB, files
  • Voice notes and round videos
  • Polls (2 to 10 options)
  • Reactions on posts
  • Pinned post

What's missing (compared to Telegram)

  • No premium-subscription channels yet
  • Limited reaction set (no custom emoji in most channels)
  • Stories and Mini Apps inside channels are still limited
  • External analytics — only what the channel UI exposes

What not to do

  • Don't mirror your Telegram channel 1:1. MAX audience expects a more business-formal tone, less slang and meme content
  • Don't post only sales pitches. MAX channels die from ad overload faster than Telegram
  • Don't ignore the first 50 subscribers. They drive the engagement signals the algorithm relies on
