Vite vs Turbopack — bundler war update

Vite owns the dev experience. Turbopack from Vercel is faster on large monorepos. Where each makes sense in 2026.

Vite: dev server starts in 200ms regardless of project size. Hot reload is instant. Stable, used by Vue, Svelte, Solid.

Turbopack: 10x faster on cold builds for large monorepos. Default in Next.js 15+. Still bumpy with non-Next setups.

For React + Next.js project: Turbopack is fine, especially with multiple apps.

For everything else (Vue, Svelte, library, plain TS): Vite wins on stability and ecosystem.
